After the announcement of the acquisition attempt Activision Blizzard From Microsoft, Many have wondered what Redmond House will do with the company’s countless IPs. Phil Spencer touched on the issue in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, saying that Microsoft would talk to various development teams to find out which owners they would like to work for.
Spencer: “I was looking at the IP list, i.e. King’s Quest, Guitar Hero … I really know, but I think they have Hexon too.“You all should know Guitar Hero. King’s Quest is a series of fictional graphic adventures in Sierra Online that Activision has acquired the rights to, while Hexen Doom was the earliest fantasy first-person shooter of the era.
Spencer said the team, however Xbox Activision will talk to Blizzard development teams and understand what old intellectual traits they want to work on: “We hope to be able to work with them when the contract expires. I can make sure we have the resources to work with the owners I have loved and wanted to engage with since my childhood. I look forward to talking to them about this. I think this is a question of adding resources and enhancing development skills.“
What to add? Activision Blizzard has many intellectual properties in its drawers that you may not want to choose from as it has been around for decades.
