The first teasing of the futuristic orange box

Orange has started offering its next internet box, Livebox 6. This will be presented next week.

We’ve been hearing about Livebox 6, Orange’s upcoming Internet box, for several months now. After the rumors place for the official presentation to be held next week.

Livebox 6 in early April

Orange will begin sending out media invitations for an event to be held on Wednesday, 6 April 2022 at 9am CET. The invitation leaves no room for ambiguity because it is referred to as “New Livebox 6 Launch Conference“.

This comes after two and a half years. Live Box 5. This was particularly disappointing and appears to be just an update to Livebox 4 with recycled plastic to reduce the device’s carbon footprint. If its overall download speed can be as high as 2 Gbit/s (1 Gbit/s per device), it still lacks the latest WiFi generations in particular, which is to be expected in the next paradigm.

first glimpse

The invitation contains an image that reveals a first glimpse of the Livebox 6. We see a plastic strip surrounded on both sides by fabric, which suggests that it could act as a container. For an online assistant?

By pressing the brightness of the image, a moon-shaped button also appears. However, the function of this button remains a mystery. Standby mode to reduce box consumption (that does not reach a small refrigerator…)?
