The mobile vaccination unit is back in service in Haute-Savoie to administer the booster dose. Its mission is to reactivate the immunity of people at risk, in the most isolated areas and especially in the mountains.

A new vaccination campaign for the booster dose as well as the primary vaccinations
The booster vaccination campaign is aimed at people over 65 – who have already been vaccinated thanks to the mobile unit but not only – the department’s health professionals will also be able to vaccinate other people who meet the criteria. “The target people will be Direct contact by the managing agent to suggest an appointment within a 6-month period between the last dose and/or Covid-19 and the injection of this booster dose (Pfizer-BioNTech).”
The mobile vaccination unit will move to the 12 primary sectors created during the first vaccination campaign (with the exception of a modification in one sector: the municipality of Boëge has been replaced by the municipality of Habère-Poche).

The municipalities hosting the mobile unit have been involved in this process and are providing logistical support, particularly by providing a room, and this new booster vaccination campaign started last October. Of the 3,550 people vaccinated, 356 received this booster dose, including 45 at home, at the Lugrin, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Viuz-en-Sallaz, Seyssel and Frangy sites.
At the same time, the mobile unit will move to service dwellings and homes of people in precarious situations. The medical team will consist of professionals from the department: depending on the number of appointments, one or two doctors, two or three nurses, one person assigned to administrative tasks. A doctor and a nurse will come to do the vaccination at home.
