On Thursday 11 July, the four gendarmes of the new Mobile Brigade were finally officially welcomed to Belleville-sur-Loire (Cher).
There was a lot going on on July 11 to welcome the new mobile brigade installed in Belleville-sur-Loire. Mayors, the prefect, the head of the emergency centre, the commander of the local gendarmerie and even the director of the nuclear power plant made the trip to celebrate “this very good news”.
The history of the Bellevilloise Mobile Brigade has been written since 2022, after Gérald Darmanin announced the creation of new brigades throughout France. “It was a competition between departments, and Cher won three places,” congratulates Prefect Maurice Baraté. In fact, the Bellevilloise Brigade will be followed by two others, in Cadoux-sur-Lubois and Saint-Just.
Supplementary Profiles
So there are four newly arrived gendarmes. Chief Warrant Officer Jérôme Faou is in command. After many years as a judicial investigator in Niort and then in Nice, his CV lists a period spent in Mali, during Operation Barkhane, 3 years in Senegal, and more recently, he has been a unit commander in Aubigny-sur-Born since 2020.
The second in command, Officer Fabián Sánchez, has been in the department for 12 years. A brilliant brigadier with a strong sense of communication and a special interest in environmental issues. Then comes the head of supply, Aurelian Manzano, who arrives from Vendúmo where he has been since 2015. He has recently been qualified as a judicial police officer.
Finally, gendarme student Adrien Patrouillet, fresh out of the gendarmerie school in Toul, in Corrèze. He spent two years volunteering, first in a brigade in Orne and then in the PSIG in Poitevin. A colleague will soon join them.
Local work
The mobile brigade covers an area of 55 communes along the Loire axis. To compensate for the hour of driving that separates them from the distant municipalities, they will follow the French roaming service and will also be present in the markets.
They will provide a daily service, including pedestrian and bicycle patrols on public roads, presence at local events and a particular focus on environmental issues.
The temporary buildings do not have physical reception, but rather the gendarmes will receive the residents.
