The twist of the scene is that maybe we found life on Jupiter’s satellite

For some years now, Europe has become one of the most determined targets for the search for species in our solar system. Despite being away from the sun, the satellite is protected by a thick outer ice sheet, which then contains a large body of seawater inside.

We recently discovered that this outer layer of ice is not just a shell, but a dynamic structure and a viable habitat in its own right. Numerous radar observations suggest that there may be plenty of water pockets like the “double ridge” we have in Greenland.

“Because it’s so close to the surface, interesting chemicals are being extracted from space, other moons and Iowa’s volcanoes, and there is a chance of life if there are water pockets in the shell,” he said. Dustin Schrder, Associate Professor of Geophysics at Stanford University. “If the mechanism we see in Greenland is the same as in Europe, there may be water everywhere.”

Instead of behaving like dull ice, Europa’s shell undergoes various geological and hydraulic processes, including the presence of water worms that explode on the surface. A dynamic ice sheet supports the habitat by facilitating the transfer of nutrients between the oceans and nearby celestial bodies that have accumulated on the surface.

“We have another hypothesis on many: we only have the advantage to support the fact that our hypothesis has some observations from creating a similar feature on Earth,” the study authors said. They actually express their confidence in the possibilities of finding something there.
