Virtual reality is also used to discover careers. This is what the seven participants in a workshop entitled “Discovering Careers in 360 degrees” learned, wearing helmets, on Thursday, July 11 in Loddon. The Local Mission North of Vienna (MLNV) and ERIPE (Regional Local Information Space) jointly organized this new workshop session at their headquarters. It is open to everyone and aims to help people who want to see their choice of career path more clearly.
“True facts and information for your eyes”
Using virtual reality headsets, participants were able to immerse themselves in the daily life and working environment of professionals. This new media has reached the field of training and has made more than two hundred professions accessible to everyone. Before that, participants will have personally reflected on their desires, aspirations and qualities.
People leave with information and something tangible in their eyes, Ophelie Corret, Communications Manager at MLNV and Erip, explains. These videos allow for an ideal representation of the reality of the professions and thus to discover them better. » Valérie Amirault and Elisa Pittavi, Erip's professional development consultants, confirm the validity of using this tool in this type of workshop. This new virtual reality technology, which is still unknown to some, is attracting audiences more easily, especially young people. »
Virtual reality is always available for these two structures, and is also being deployed for other types of events, such as job fairs or business information points. The next workshop will be held in November 2024.
