Developing a video game is no easy feat, and there are plenty of mistakes that regularly ruin the lives of studios. History reminds us once again today with the unfortunate incident that happened to Saber Interactive, which saw its Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 leaked in its entirety onto the web.

If you haven't followed the story, you can get a full copy of the PC version of Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2. It was leaking This weekend. So many players had the chance to play an unfinished version of the game, some even going so far as to finish the campaign.
Faced with the situation, the studio responded Twitterespecially thanking the community for its support.
We have been deeply touched by the overwhelming support we have received from our community after an old copy of our upcoming game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, was leaked.
Sabre also says it's disappointing to see some of the surprises spoiled by this leak, and that the teams are saddened that this non-final version of the game will be the first experience of Space Marine 2 “for some of our most passionate fans.”
Our teams have put years of hard work, passion, and dedication into creating a game worthy of your hopes and expectations, and it’s sad to realize that so many of the surprises we’ve tried so hard to keep secret have been lost. We’re sad that this release, which will be almost a year old when it launches, will be the first experience of Space Marine 2 for some of our most passionate fans.

The studio then states that its goal is to provide the best possible experience, and therefore asks players to “avoid this unfinished version” and not spoil the game for those waiting for its release.

As a reminder, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be available on September 9, 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, and several versions are still available for pre-order.
