watchOS 9: Update coming soon in public beta

Along with the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, Apple will allow Apple Watch users to try out the new beta version of watchOS 9 that will be available in July.

Before you start downloading and installing, be alert. In fact, since it is beta software, watchOS 9 is not immune to bugs that could affect the performance and independence of the Apple Watch.

Register your Apple Watch in public beta

First, like installing updates for other operating systems, your Apple Watch will need to be plugged in and charged to at least 50%.

Then, to take advantage of the public beta, go to the link beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ on your iPhone, tap watchOS, then the link Register your Apple Watch.

Install Public Beta on Apple Watch

After signing up, you will need to complete the process by installing the public beta on your Apple Watch. So :

  • Download the configuration profile on the Downloads page, then press to allow Upon request.
  • After launching the profile, touch Apple watch.
  • Restart your watch
