Microsoft has always wanted more transparency between its desktop ecosystem and mobile experiences. The publisher is developing a new feature that will allow you to quickly resume activity from your Android smartphone or iPhone on your Windows 11 PC.

The feature is called “delivery”is one of the options “Follow up from phone” Which we have already told you about, and it can be activated or deactivated from the section “system” Operating System Settings. When the option is active, an icon appears in the taskbar to inform the user that they have a task available that they can continue on their computer. A shortcut is also added to the Start menu.

From mobile to Windows 11 PC seamlessly

for now, “delivery” It's limited to OneDrive and works on automatic syncing between devices on the platform. So activities started on mobile that can be resumed with a single click on Windows 11 must be linked to an app from the Microsoft workgroup. If you're working on a Word document on your smartphone or tablet, for example, you can pick up where you left off on your PC.

“delivery” It has nothing to do with it. “Link with Windows” (Phone link) or “connected mobile”which allows you to control your mobile phone from your computer or share content more quickly between your different devices. It is now possible to view the files on your smartphone through File Explorer on your computer. Here, the two terminals do not need to be connected via Bluetooth, as transparency is provided by the Microsoft cloud and OneDrive.

Very practical, unfortunately this functionality may be limited to Microsoft services. On the other hand, we can hope that the Edge browser will be integrated in the future, even if it is not really very complicated to find content by switching from one device or another. Xbox cloud gaming would also be an interesting candidate.
