Facebook founder buys more land in Hawaii
Before buying again, Mark Zuckerberg already owned about 526 acres of land in Hawaii.

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife already own a large ranch on the island of Kauai – and now they’ve expanded again.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, 37, and his wife Priscilla Chan, 36, have bought nearly 44.5 hectares of land on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where much of a former sugar plantation reservoir is located. This is what the Honolulu Daily Star-Advisor reported. The couple is said to have paid 17 million US dollars, equivalent to about 15 million euros, last month.
The couple wants to expand farming
Zuckerberg had previously purchased about 526 hectares of land on the island. According to the Hawaiian newspaper, the new purchase follows from the agricultural and nature reserve around Ko’olau Ranch, Zuckerberg and his wife’s Hawaiian home. The area also has a dam that broke in 2006 after a long rain. Seven people are said to have died.
According to a spokesperson for the couple, the two want to meet all legal requirements as well as pay attention to safety around the tank. Zuckerberg and his wife want to farm the land, but they also want to support the local flora and fauna.
