The UAE is using virtual reality technology to help train security officials in the metaverse.
For three days, officials from the International Security Alliance – an international security organization based in Abu Dhabi – participated in several virtual crisis simulations as part of an event known as the ISALEX 2.0 training exercise.
Using virtual reality goggles and Zoom video conferencing, officials addressed a wide range of security threats from cyber attacks to drone strikes during the Expo 2020 in Dubai.
“We are one step ahead of the criminals,” said Major Hamad Khater, director of the International Operations Department at the Ministry of Interior. wired.
He explained how introducing security simulations into the virtual world benefits public officials, as it provides greater flexibility than in-person training.
“We can do the exercise and variations from different places without interruption,” Khater said.
“If we do this exercise, every night we will need to close the airport to allow it [ISALEX members] Come.”
The director stressed the importance of virtually training police officers and security guards in order to prepare for the future expansion of Metaverse.
