The computer that controls the charging port of the Model 3 and the Model Y is out of stock
-
This leads to waiting times of up to several weeks

The computer will be installed in service centers and not in the factory
Tesla has been able to avoid most, but not all, of the supply issues that nearly every automaker has faced over the past two years.
In fact, some owners are complaining on the forum Tesla Motors Club From having to wait a few weeks before receiving their new car due to a missing part.
Apparently, the problem lies in the ECU (computer) charging port, which is not one of the many parts the manufacturer makes themselves.
Since this computer has limited availability, Tesla has chosen to send completed cars to service centers without it and have technicians repair them as soon as replacement units become available.
This means that many Model 3 and Y owners have to wait, sometimes up to three weeks after the scheduled delivery date, for their vehicle to be fitted with the computer it should be able to afford.
These landlords are getting angry that they have already paid their delivery deposit on the car and are now watching it build up dust in the parking lot of their local service center.
Also, as is often the case with Tesla, communications between the manufacturer and customers are somewhat lacking and many owners are left without an explanation for this situation.
Also, since the car is waiting at the service center rather than the factory, the quality of customer service and communication is variable.
Fortunately, not a large number of customers seem to find themselves in this situation and the company appears to be prioritizing parts from factories to limit the number of cars that go out without the computer in question.
