Windows 11 23H2 is finally here, and the wait is over

Windows 11 23H2 update continues to roll out to users. It started rolling out in Fall 2023 and not everyone got it at the same time. But the wait is finally over.

To install this update, simply open Settings > Windows Update and check if Windows 11 23H2 is available for you. In this case, you will see a button to restart your device. The system requirements are the same as previous versions of the operating system, which should ensure good compatibility after installation.

Support for Windows 22H2 is scheduled to end on October 8, 2024. After that date, PCs will no longer receive security patches, making them more vulnerable to attacks. Redmond will automatically update Windows 11 Home and Pro devices running 22H2, and those not managed by IT departments, to Windows 11 23H2. Support for that version ends on November 11, 2025.

What's new in Windows 11 23H2?

The Windows 11 23H2 update brings several features including taskbar grouping to display each open app window as a separate icon. A new volume mixer has been added. The update includes RGB lighting controls, native support for 7Z and RAR formats, and other improvements.
