A new mobile regional brigade is operational in Martinique.

Since August 6, 2024, a mobile gendarmerie unit has been stationed in Carbet. The BTM's mission is to “strengthen the physical presence” of the army throughout the territory. The official inauguration of this new security system is scheduled for next September.

It is a team of 5 gendarmes stationed in Carbet since August 6, as a mobile regional brigade. With its converted truck, it aims to reinforce other teams on the ground throughout the island, especially in communities where there are no gendarmerie barracks.

You will see our new Mobile Territorial Brigade (BTM) travelling the roads of Martinique. In addition to the existing units, the Mobile Brigade will serve in particular to reinforce the physical presence of the Gendarmerie.
