A course of five hour-and-a-half computer workshops in September has just finished, Tuesday, October 15, in a room adjacent to City Hall.
“Four beginners were able to take their first steps and six people improved to level 2. This basically involves finding their way around the computer, creating folders and finding their way through all their files“, explains Claire Motet, Digital Inclusion Project Manager at the Bêta-pi Association. The other axis relates to browsing the Internet, because all activities of daily life today involve that. »
We seem to know how to use a computer but there are a lot of gaps

“Real skills are now essential, hence the importance of this trainingJudges Mayor Patrick Charpentier. This is changing a lot, very quickly. We can no longer do anything without a computer to access various services. It was appropriate for a local association to come. France services are also useful. »
One participant supports the need for such workshops: “We need it for lab results, Doctolib and all that… We have the impression that we know how to use a computer but there are a lot of gaps. As we get older, we lose a lot. There is always something new. In our phishing email detection test, I got the answer wrong half the time.“, admits this participant.
Claire Motet adds that occasional workshops on specific topics are also prepared.. “The main goal is for people not to be afraid of computers anymore.”
“A new cycle of workshops is scheduled to be held in La Chapelle-Pouilleux in November and December, and then in Busais-Vitry and in other municipalities that will respond to our call. At the same time, we have workshops in Pietà B in Mele, Place du Palais (formerly the Public Treasury). »
