Google Maps will begin to suggest ways to reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact

Google Announced We are working on some updates that allow Google Maps to automatically recommend travel plans with minimal environmental impact, while other options have similar travel times. Factors such as traffic and road slope will be taken into consideration to reduce fuel consumption. On the other hand, while the journey with the least environmental impact is considerably longer, Google Maps limits itself to the most ecological path and introduces the possibility of comparing CO emissions.2 Rated for paths. Updates will be available in the United States earlier this year, Google said, and then gradually worldwide.

Google later announced other new updates on Google Maps. From June, maps will show areas subject to emissions restrictions in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Spain. More countries will be added later.

In the coming months, when looking for a itinerary, additional available itineraries will be added to the maps, thus comparing several methods to achieving a destination without prioritizing routes with private vehicles.
