On Wednesday, nearly two thousand Smurfit Kappa employees participated in Forlì and Capocolle di Bertinoro in a World Day initiative dedicated to health and safety at work. On the workbench or on the desk they find an unusual gift: a package of apples, in a corrugated cardboard tray from the company collection called Safe & Green. It is the tool chosen by the Italian branch of multinational paper packaging to celebrate Safety Day. The theme of the 2021 edition is actually “Safety for life. Luxury for life”, on the theme of luxury, where food is served also plays a leading role. And what is healthier than an apple? Hence the idea of packaging four fruits in a safe and green tray, a range of sustainable, recyclable and 100% biodegradable food packaging made in Italian factories. The note continues: “The importance of safety in the workplace is a topic that is always on the agenda of Smurfit Kappa and not just on April 28. Among the initiatives launched recently, we remember“ Safety Talks ”: a path for cultural growth and awareness of the daily work of employees on the topic of safety with the aim of promoting Virtuous behaviors and practices; and the LifeWorks service, which is a free and confidential assistance program available to all of the company’s 2,000 employees in Italy that helps, in case of need, to deal with work, life or health problems. “
