An immersive series that will allow you to experience a spacewalk!

Many of us cherish the dream of going into space. However, many of us probably think that unless we become a billionaire, this dream will never come true. However, we may all have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to walk in space. Thanks to an immersive series using virtual reality!

Capturing Earth in stereoscopic 3D, in a 360-degree format from space and outside the space station, has been the ambitious project developed by several entities since 2015. Among these entities are Time Studios, and the creators of the immersive series Space Explorers: The International Space Station Experience.

Instead of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to go into space and just watch it through the windows of spaceships, Felix & Paul Studios, one of the series’ creators, offers you much better. Episodes 3 and 4 of this series will effectively give you the experience of spacewalking through virtual reality.

In fact, Felix & Paul Studios created a custom version of the Z-Cam V1 Pro and attached it to the Canadarm2 robotic arm, which moves around the station’s exoskeleton, to capture 360-degree 3D views of the exterior.

Note that this personal camera from Felix & Paul, called the “Outer Space Camera”, has nine 4K sensors that can capture 3D images in 8K resolution. The camera has been modified to withstand ultraviolet rays, extreme temperatures, and the effects of micro-meteorites.

Episodes 3 and 4 of the series will be available in the fall and winter respectively and can be viewed on 5G-enabled devices via major carriers around the world, but also as fully immersive virtual reality experiences in the Oculus Store, for the Rift, Quest and Quest 2 headphones.
