Gurman also writes that Apple is still working on a multi-device charger, like the failing AirPower charging mat it was originally meant to be.
In June 2021, there were indications that Apple was developing an inductive charging mat for several devices that should replace the failed AirPower experiment. According to Gorman, the company is also continuing to work on solutions for wireless charging over short and long distances: This includes an inductive charging method that works over longer ranges. This would make it possible to power the smartphone from a distance within your four walls without being directly connected to the device.
