ARACHNOPHOBIA – If you are afraid of spiders, this app is for you
Perhaps one of the most common types of phobias afraid spiders; If some people can tolerate them as long as they stay a reasonable distance, others fall victim to real panic attacks that can change their daily lives. However, according to many studies in this area, this fear can be treated with gradual and gentle exposure to spiders.
This is how the Phobys app chose to help the injured d’arachnophobie. It was created by the University of Basel in Switzerland and by the occasional Mindguide that specializes in online therapies. Phobys is an augmented reality app developed to reduce the fear of spiders by offering a training program with virtual spiders projected in the real world.
The app offers ten levels of exposure to spiders in order to allow users to gradually get used to it. In order for the application and augmented reality to function properly, the designers recommend placing yourself in front of a flat, open and well-lit surface.
