Chassis, Connectors, and Display For Asus VivoBook S17 S712EAM-BX517W
It has a discreet and elegant design with its slim, relatively light and subtle silver finish.
The connectivity built into this versatile laptop is good, including a handy HDMI video output to easily connect this computer to a TV or monitor, for example, Wi-Fi ac units and Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless remote and communications. Cord, port audio, 1 USB-C port Don’t forget 3 USB ports all compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 ensures transfers are up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you connect it to a USB 3.0 device.
The screen adopts the classic features in 16:9 format and its definition is 1600×900. However, it features an anti-reflective treatment which makes it more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a glossy panel which is less stressful to the eyes with prolonged use.
The performance and autonomy of the Asus VivoBook S17 S712EAM-BX517W
Asus VivoBook S17 S712EAM-BX517W is a relatively thin and light 17-inch laptop intended for everyday general purpose use.
Featuring a low-power Intel Tiger Lake Core i3-1115G4 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, this laptop delivers good performance in everyday use, such as web browsing and office automation.
Admittedly, Core i3 exposes its limitations with programs that require processor resources, such as AMD Ryzen 3 and, of course, less powerful processors.
But the Intel UHD G4 graphics solution it includes allows you to view photos and videos but also to play light games, which many will appreciate.
On the storage side, there’s a 512GB SSD hard drive that competes in capacity with the HDD standard while being silent, less power consuming, more powerful, and much faster.
Concretely thanks to the SSD, the start / stop operations are much faster for example, as is the case with launching applications, and we get to online game cards faster. Overall, an SSD offers much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a simple hard drive.
Of course, in case you need additional space, you can use an external storage such as a USB-C/USB 3.0 device to take advantage of fast transfers.
As for autonomy, it is not the strong point of this computer whose versatility and lightness can nonetheless be appreciated up to 17 inches, since it runs on battery about 4 hours on light use. However, note that the computer is large in size, if not the easiest means of transportation, then it is especially convenient for stable use (for example at home).
