The Società Velica di Barcola and Grignano headquarters opened on October 1st at 9am for the much awaited collection of regatta materials.
After the Covid-imposed hiatus in 2020, when it was mandatory to send the bag to the owner’s house, the much-awaited meeting this year between SVBG volunteers involved in organizing the regatta and shipowners, who will be able to go to Barcola every day, until October 9, is back from 9 to 19 to assemble the bag containing various Regatta, Macon and Flag class tools and documents.
“Open SVBG Office with care and security – President Mitja Gialows commented – It is really exciting to us: for over fifty years the moment of registration has always been symbolic for the many volunteers who work in the regatta, and the fact that we are able to revive it, while keeping our distances, makes us look to the future with optimism and allows us to revitalize our great traditions of hospitality And share“.
SVBG will be open from October 1 to shipowners every day: SVBG’s material access and distribution methods allow operations to be managed with maximum security. Meanwhile, the organizing committee is considering extending online registrations, which have been evaluated by the Federal Council of FIV: once formalized, it will allow Barcolana to keep registrations open until October 9.
This will also allow the postponement of the registrations of the connected boat races, starting with the Hera Go To Barcolana Cup from Ravenna, where there are already about thirty boats participating and more can therefore be added. The Barcolana Classic also benefits from extension: for this regatta, the mooring area for old boats has also been expanded, and all Classic-registered boats will have access to these private spaces (even those usually moored between Muggia and Monfalcone).
All registration procedures for associated events and Barcolana start from the website www.barcolana.it: The Barcolana call center is available to all ship owners (+39 040 9820433, active Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm). As of October 1, the withdrawal of tools and documents will be “open doors”.
