Cell phone mystery: Why aren’t the usual suspects available?

puzzle. The documentary series “Puzzling Phenomena” is shown on German TV II. Curator Dirk Steffens searches for explanations for strange and wonderful phenomena in this television format. Perhaps he must also deal with a mystery that regularly drives me into white heat.

the suspects. It’s about people who can’t be reached when you call back. So not after an hour or two, but right away. It rings for me, I picked up a split second too late, hit the number right away, but no one answers. How could it be? What could actually happen in this period of time, which lasts no longer than the flapping of a butterfly’s wings? And why does this always happen only to those I have long considered among the usual suspects?

Headache. This group also includes my daughter who has had a cell phone for a few months now. She’s still in primary school, so it gave me a big headache to outfit her with a cell phone. Studies have shown that children learn to speak poorly when they spend a lot of time in front of a screen, because then talking to each other is less within the family. On the other hand: It gives me a sense of security knowing that I can reach them at any time.

Surprisingly, she hardly uses her cell phone. Prefer to read, write stories and play with friends. I don’t even know what I did right. Anyway, it could take off faster – but maybe the Pope is just nervous people in that regard.
