Elmshorn (dpa/lno) – A cell phone locator function has helped explain the Elmshorn handbag theft. Police said Friday that an Elmshorn woman was shopping Wednesday afternoon when her handbag disappeared from the car. When the disappearance was noticed, the woman’s daughter identified the mobile phone that had disappeared with the handbag.

Together with the alerted police, the women found the handbag hanging in a tree about one kilometer away. But the cell phone and wallet are missing. A whistle, which can be triggered by the search function, finally revealed a 54-year-old man. The phone and wallet were in his pocket. The man said he found the bag. She added that a criminal case on suspicion of theft awaited him.
