Simply put, WhatsApp will let you customize your conversations by choosing a background as well as the color of your message bubbles. If the color of your messages changes automatically with the background, you will be able to select one manually for further customization.

A list of pre-defined wallpapers will be available, like Messenger, and it will be possible to set the brightness of your theme so that it adapts to your preferences (especially if you use dark mode).
