cosplay, streamers and stars

HeroFest offers cosplay beginners the opportunity to savor the theater experience in a sheltered environment during the so-called catwalk. Later, professional cosplayers took the stage with their self-made costumes and rehearsed choreography.

Many invited banners and influencers also provide entertainment. For example, big names in scenes like Geekstübli or audience favorites like Aditotoro. In addition, other famous guests from the worlds of esports, cosplay, art, or live streams can attend HeroFest.

New games and a big premiere

In HeroFest, players have the opportunity to try all possible consoles and platforms. Or you can plunge into strange worlds in the immersive areas of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR). Small independent Swiss studios and big game developers both offer their latest games.

“The highlight comes from GIANTS Software publishers: HeroFest visitors are the first to get to play the new 22 farming simulator,” Matt Huber enthuses. With tens of millions of copies sold, the game series is the most successful Swiss video game.

Esports at the highest Swiss level

The finals of Switzerland’s biggest esports tournaments take place at HeroFest – quite literally. “If you only know esports from streams or YouTube, I recommend visiting the esports stage. Hopper says enthusiastic fans and cheerful gamers let the spirit of esports live there and ensure emotional, emotional moments.”

This year’s Swisscom Hero League winners will be announced in the esports stage this weekend. A total of CHF55,000 in prize money will be awarded in HeroFest tournaments.

Even before HeroFest started, 1,200 players gathered in the halls adjacent to SwitzerLAN. Either from Switzerland or from neighboring countries. The LAN party is one of the largest in Europe and one of the first since the pandemic. Those who love games should at least take a look at the hall full of screens.

In HeroFest At HeroFest 2021, certification is required. Visitors are not required to wear masks, but are encouraged to stay away from each other if possible. “We planned a lot more space so people wouldn’t get too close,” says Matt Hooper.
