After returning from holidays, Italians will get a television taste of the new digital terrestrial. From Wednesday 28 August, Roy will take the first steps towards T2, which promises broadcasters a more efficient use of frequencies that will deliver higher quality images and sounds to viewers. But as said it is delicious. In fact, only three thematic channels will switch to the new standard: Roy Storia, Roy Schoola and Roy Radio 2 Visual.
With the new standard it is also possible to receive Rai1, Rai2 and Rai3 on channels 501, 502 and 503. You will need a refurbished and compatible TV (purchased from 22 December 2018) to continue watching the entire Rai bouquet. Otherwise, you need to buy a decoder or TV. The problem is that it is not known to date when the entire Italian television system will adopt T2. That's because there are still about 10 million televisions in circulation that don't comply with the new standard. Publishers don't want to lose audience (and advertising).
Struggling with an array of small off switches and T2 at risk of being halfway through, there is a platform that offers a ready-to-use solution: satellite. It guarantees unlimited bandwidth, universal signal coverage (enough to go) and quality of offer reaching 4K. And it is a green technology. tivùsat has been carrying the free satellite standard in Italy for 15 years. Families waiting for the new digital terrestrial, who can't even watch the “old” one, will know this satellite site well. There are more than three million, and with a satellite dish, decoder (or a game) they stop worrying about off switches, they watch a bouquet of more than 130 channels, more than 70 of which are in HD. And seven are broadcast in 4K.
