Fortnite viral parody clip shows how much the game has changed between 2017 and 2022

Fortnite Battle Royale debuted on September 26, 2017. Since then, many changes have been made to the game and 20 seasons.

Players who have been there since the beginning have seen all of these changes as they play. Even those who started somewhere in the middle experienced major changes.

Games have to evolve to survive, and this is one of the main reasons why Fortnite has been one of the best titles for most of the past four and a half years. A viral clip posted on YouTube expertly illustrates this.

The viral clip shows how much Fortnite has progressed over the years

The clip comes from CircleToonsHD on YouTube and it perfectly sums up the game’s growth. Fortnite is, simply put, more complex than before. The early days of the game don’t feel much like today.

In 2017, when the title was new, it was almost entirely filmed and made. That last mechanic wasn’t complicated either. As seen in the clip, players often build out of necessity or to protect themselves.

There was one wall in front of a player to protect him from bullets that was familiar, but there was nothing else. Fast forward to 2022, and the game has evolved significantly.

Although this clip was intended to mock the lack of build a bit, that is no longer the case as Zero Build was introduced as an alternate mode and is no longer present in the main playlists.

However, the funny fact of removing defensive buildings and increasing the offensive firepower of tanks (and the armored fighting bus) is gleefully highlighted in the clip.

Among other things that have changed dramatically is cosmetics. At first, co-ops weren’t just an idea in Epic Games’ mind. It’s been almost two full years since my first collaboration with mdoe Avengers.

Not a big Fortnite player but the guy who counts Avengers: Endgame is EPIC!

Now, co-ops are everywhere, as seen in the video. Even the passions became collaborative, with many allowing the music and the dances associated with it.

Even the introduction of secondary things, such as hunting and weekly story quests, is a significant change from the start. The addition of Tactical Sprint also introduces another huge difference that many may not have expected ahead of time.

It’s been just over four years, and the title has changed a lot. Fans can only imagine how much that could change in the next few years.
