A young Gardoise woman, Laurie Ballesteros, is developing the Digital Nomad Academy (DNA) mobile app. It allows you to reference the correct addresses for coworking, accommodation, hotels, etc. for travel professionals.
Laurie Ballesteros is only 24 years old, and her future is ahead of her, yet with her head on her shoulders, she is moving quickly through her personal and professional projects. “I studied business administration and marketing. I am a professor at a business school and have had a communications agency called Kompel for more than two years, specializing in social networks. But I am developing a mobile application. Digital Nomads Academy (DNA) that balances the professional life of entrepreneurs with reference to good addresses in co-working spaces, living, hotels, etc. for the life of entrepreneurs who move while traveling.
But the idea is not a coincidence. “I went to Bali for two months. I had my computer for work. I found bad addresses, bad WiFi, bad environment. I struggled to work while traveling. I did my studies, walked and started.”
Free app available in September on AOS and Android stores
But despite her youth and Olympic calm, she has an energy and a spirit that is always on the move, aiming to find solutions to the problems she has been through, as Laurie believes. “For someone who works primarily on a computer, is mobile and doesn't need a desk.” If she ventures out alone, she knows how to surround herself: “I have Laura Friesen, who is a development agency there. She set the specifications and got the support. I am alone in the project, I have three investors, and I have an incubator (an entity that accompanies business development).”
But an ambitious woman does not forget the human and complex side of the situation: “My parents don’t understand much but they believe in it. I’m impatient, and a little nervous because I’ve put money and time on the line. At this point, I can’t go back.”
Its app will be released on September 20, and can be downloaded from the AOS and Android stores, for free, with features to be added over the next year. The DNA (Digital Nomad Académy) logo has an A in the shape of an airplane for travel. “It was the student who came up with the logo. The orange color matches the sunset.” But Laurie's mind is racing: “I have other ideas but for later regarding physical events and participation in the Digital Nomad Academy.”
