Google Chrome: The new functionality makes it easy to change passwords

Google Chrome has been checking passwords for any potential compromises on demand since August 2020. If the program detects abuse of your data, then an urgent change of your Secret Access Password is on the agenda. This is time consuming and especially annoying if you are using the same character set for many websites and online services. It is precisely at this point that Chrome should offer more support in the future. Like Google recently Advertise, The latest version of the browser opens the possibility to automate password changes. If the software’s password manager detects an access token abuse, it now offers the option to take over the change process on the user’s behalf.

Not yet available in Germany

This is made possible thanks to Google’s “Duplex on the Web” technology that was introduced in 2019. With this, the group enables its own Google Assistant to handle tasks such as online requests. The password is now changed automatically on the same basis. Users can interrupt the entire process at any time and follow it manually. So far, the new feature is only available on select websites that support the service. But even on platforms that aren’t yet functional, you can let Chrome help you, for example to create a particularly secure password. The new option is currently only available in the US under Chrome for Android. According to its own information, Google is working to introduce the feature in other regions in the coming months and also support more websites.
