Großenhain: Amazon hires for Christmas business

Lambertswald. Amazon employs more than 10,000 seasonal workers across Germany for its Christmas business. This is what the American Logistics Group offers about its German sites. “At the Lambertswald distribution center, approximately 100 seasonal workers are expected to support the local team and ensure that all customers receive their packages on time,” says Manuel Lesch, an Amazon spokesperson. Last year, Amazon created more than 3,000 new permanent jobs in logistics in Germany. The seasonal colleagues then support the 19,000 permanent logistics employees hired by Amazon before Christmas. “They all benefit from competitive wages and benefits,” says Amazon.

Interested parties are invited to take a live virtual tour amazon.de/virtuelletouren For a look behind the scenes of logistics centers. Amazon has already offered a starting wage of €12 gross per hour, which is a reality for most employees – depending on the region and location, more than that. In addition, there are “comprehensive additional services”, in a modern and safe working environment. “At Amazon, active exchange, teamwork, and diversity are a living reality, which is why nearly 90 percent of employees in logistics rate their work with the highest scores in current surveys,” the press release says. For quite a few employees, a job as a seasonal employee leads to a job at Amazon.

Seasonal workers will assist in picking, packing and delivering customer orders during the Christmas season. More information is available about local seasonal jobs at Amazon as well as the ability to apply at amazon.jobs/de. (SZ/krü)
