Remember Heroes of Newerth, aka HoN for short? Or are you still playing the MOBA veteran? Before the species rose to its current heights, the name HoN was not unknown on the scene. As we all know by now, however, the alternative genre in the field of MOBA cannot keep up with League of Legends or DOTA 2.

But HN is still around today and still supports their loyal fan base with whatever they need. However, this status quo will not last much longer. As officials announced yesterday, Monday night, servers will finally be shut down on June 20, 2022. Heroes of Newerth was initially developed by S2 Games and debuted on May 12, 2010. HoN premiered on July 29, 2011 as a free-to-play title . Four years later, on May 5, 2015, MOBA was acquired by Frostburn Studios from the start, and the previous development team also moved into the new studio.

HN has been discontinued – data and information

In the letter regarding the discontinuation of services, it was said that we would like to thank everyone who has accompanied this trip for the last eleven years now. During this time it has evolved more, created a lot of unforgettable memories and made HoN one of the most popular MOBA games.

However, this journey will end next year, as previously mentioned on June 20, 2022. The team would like to thank the players and for all the support they have received over the years. As a first consequence of the decision to discontinue the release of Heroes of Newerth, gold coins are no longer available for sale. As of December 31, 2021, it is no longer possible to create new accounts.

Newerth Champions Announcement Video

Anyone who still remembers the official video announcement from September 17, 2009 has been dealing with MOBA for twelve years. For some, it will be the first time they have seen the video, and for others there is a great deal of nostalgia.
