Apple released a software update for iPhones and iPods earlier this month that included a built-in music authentication button to help you quickly identify a song.
This is one way to use Apple Shazam 2018 for $ 400 million. You do not need to install the Shajam app for this to work. All you have to do is add a button to the control center menu, and then, when you hear a song you like, if you want to know who the artist is, you tap the button.
Tap on iOS 14.2 to recognize your iPhone music.

It’s fun and easy to set up. Here is what you do.
- First, make sure you have the latest software running on your iPhone. To do so, go to Settings> General> Software Update. You must have iOS 14.2 or newer.
- Open the settings on your iPhone once the update is installed.
- Tap the Control Center.
- Scroll down to “More” and tap the green ‘+’ button next to Music Recognition.
This adds a music recognition function to the control center.
Tap this button to identify songs on your iPhone.

On an iPhone with Face ID, drag down the control center shadow by swiping down from the top right of the phone and tap the music authentication icon I labeled in the image above. On iPhones with a Home button, swipe from the bottom of the screen to find the icon to access this menu.
Now you can use it whenever you listen to a song, even when you listen to a playlist with headphones, to see the song title and artist.
