In Togo, fintech Semoa launched its mobile money withdrawal solution on Ecobank distributors

(Ecofin Agency) – If the year 2020, punctuated by the Covid-19 virus, has accelerated the digitization of banking services, they continue to explore areas to expand their digital offer. This is the case of Ecobank-Togo, which now accepts mobile money withdrawals from its ATMs.

In Togo, Semoa, a fintech company specializing in digital payment services, on Thursday 3 June during a keynote speech, launched its WhatsApp mobile banking solution on Ecobank’s Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).

The solution, called Xpress Cash from SEMOA, allows its users to withdraw money from their mobile money accounts with Ecobank distributors, without a bank card, using a withdrawal code generated by Dédé, a Whatsapp chat software developed by Togolese startup.

“SEMOA’s Xpress Cash enables Tmoney and Flooz services to be available 24 hours a day to 4 million Togolese mobile money users, through the UEMOA region, wherever ECOBANK ATMs and Xpress Points are located.” , identifies Edem Adjamagbo (photo), CEO of Semoa.

The materialization of the partnership with Pan-African Banking Group comes a year after Sunu Bank, another Togolese bank, adopted the Whatsapp Banking solution created by the Togo campaign. This allows former BPEC customers to make withdrawals, deposits and transfers on their mobile phones.

As its partner portfolio expands, FinTech was twice crowned in Morocco between 2018 and 2019, and said it is in discussions with several major financial institutions, including Orabank.
