A free training was launched today, based on the Skill Cup mobile app and developed in collaboration with the Kaspersky Security Awareness team, to help parents and their children better understand cybersecurity and security issues. It has been designed to address major problems and challenges that children may face while using their devices and surfing the Internet. The program is available on iOS and Android platforms. The launch of this training coincides with World Children’s Day.
According to several studies, by the age of 11/12 years, the majority of children already use various connected devices. But for the Internet to remain a safe place for children born with “tablet hands,” cybersecurity skills and an ethics of digital practices must be developed from childhood. Kaspersky and Skill Cup worked together to develop training to meet this need.
Based on the Skill Cup mobile app, it consists of a series of interactive lessons organized on several topics. These lessons are presented in various formats: articles, videos, quizzes, and infographics.
Topics cover the most important ethical and digital issues such as cyberbullying, rules for communicating with strangers, dangerous content (groups and issues), types of fraud, etc. At the end of each lesson, a small test is given to assess knowledge and understanding of the topic.
Mobile training is currently available in both English and Russian.
