myCanal now offers a complete experience to its subscribers who want to access it in their car via Google's operating system.
One of the pillars of Canal+'s aggregation strategy is myCANAL, the platform that gives subscribers access to a wide catalog of content, including films, series, documentaries, TV shows and live sporting events. It also offers playback, live control and the ability to download content for offline viewing on various media such as Android and iOS smartphones, computers, connected TVs (Samsung, LG), or even Apple TV, Android TV, or Game consoles (Playstation and Xbox) or via Chromecast and Airplay. On October 17, its Google Play subsidiary Vivendi announced a new version of its app on another little-talked-about medium, Android Automotive. This new update “Now it delivers a complete experience! You can watch all of your myCanal video content while your car is parked (charging, waiting, etc.), and continue listening to audio while driving, allowing you to follow sporting events or news.
For those who don't know, Android Automotive is an operating system designed by Google to be integrated directly into vehicles, providing a native interface for controlling navigation, media, and other vehicle functions. Since 4 October, Canal+ subscribers can also enjoy for the first time at home all the contents and features of the Canal+ app, directly in their Renault car provided it is equipped with openR link technology.
