A small individual in a big world.
When it comes to video game adaptations, the Lord of the Rings license hasn't had a very good fate in recent years. If the first decade of the 21st century featured some great titles that stayed in the memory (and an excellent MMO), the latest creations haven't really made an impression. Between the disastrous canceled projects Gollum And the complex launch of Back to Moria (Corrected now), audience expectations are starting to crystallize.
The next suggestion is someone called The Lord of the Rings: Tales of the Shire, A relaxing simulation game, which can easily be presented as Animal Crossing in the HobbitWith its many customization options, its moments of calm, its recipes and delicious dishes to cook, and the possibility to decorate its interior… You play as a hobbit who does not need adventure and who much prefers to fish in a happy environment rather than thinking in dark places.
As expected, the title presented a Sunday evening screening, entirely dedicated to showcasing the experience. In truth, there is nothing really new in this long screening, but it is a reminder of everything that awaits us in this adaptation that smells of relaxation. If the visual bias may not please everyone, we still have to admit that the atmosphere makes you want to immerse yourself in it. With Weta Workshop behind it (which took care, in particular, of the film sets), we can not fear a lack of sincerity. And we will not lie, the production of the show is very successful, with great camera shots.
Obviously the information to remember here is that the release date has finally dropped. It was recently postponed to next year, Shire Tales It will be released on March 22, 2025. On PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Netflix. Also note that we've had access to play it ahead of time and that our first review will be arriving soon, with a slight delay.
