The Ministry of Digitization in its powers digital inclusion for all citizens as well as the integration of new technologies. The Luxembourg Pavilion in Dubai project shown below combines these two aspects. In fact, through virtual reality, everyone has had access to this world fair.

Expo Dubai 2020

The World Expo 2020 was held from October 2021 to March 2022 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. More than 22 million visits were counted. About 200 countries and international organizations presented their ideas and solutions on the chosen theme for the exhibition: “Connecting Minds, Building the Future”.

From November 2021 to April 2022, the Ministry of Digitization has given the Grand Duchy audience the opportunity to discover Luxembourg Pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai Thanks to virtual reality, through a platform that intersects with country roads.

In this pavilion, those interested were able to settle down and don a virtual reality headset to live an immersive experience of the Luxembourg Pavilion in Dubai. Through this project, the Ministry of Digitization aims to facilitate access, reduce physical barriers, and connect nearly everyone to this international event. It was about letting residents take advantage of the benefits that new technologies offer!

This decentralized initiative ensured access to all citizens who wanted to live the unique experience of visiting the Luxembourg Pavilion in Dubai in Luxembourg through virtual reality.

In total, the pavilion received 1,672 visitors during its various travels.

Mobile Application “Luxembourg Pavilion Dubai 2020”

Since February 8, 2022, the Luxembourg Pavilion Dubai 2020 mobile application has also provided a virtual tour of the Luxembourg Pavilion at the Dubai Expo. It is a modification of the film in virtual reality that was presented to the general public during the tour of the Ministry’s pavilion across the country.This mobile application offers a large number of advantages:

  • The user can view it from wherever he is.
  • He can visit the pavilion at his own pace, as many times as he pleases, and explore all the options available at his leisure.
  • It only needs a smartphone or tablet to enjoy the interactive virtual tour.
  • After downloading it, the user no longer needs access to the Internet to view it.
