Molotov develops with new support and a better mobile app

The OTT platform appears to have recovered from its setbacks with the M6 ​​and TF1 and continues to improve its services.

Evolution continues on Molotov. The streaming service launched a new version of the browser-based service this week, a significant update to its iPhone mobile app.

Users of the platform no longer need to download the application to access their favorite channels on Molotov. Just go to the molotov.tv website and click on “Open in browserHowever, this version can only be accessed on a PC, if you try to perform a manipulation on a smartphone, you will be redirected to the application download page.

Then the interface is the same as the one already presented, which is always available by clicking Download. Note, however, that it will not be possible to download your content for offline viewing and that a minimum window size is required to use the platform.

iPhone users can now also download a new version of the mobile app from the App Store. The latter, stamped 3.37.0, in particular brings the “best software every week to score with a simple gesture when opening the app”.

Likewise, if you want to save your programs for later, the developers explain that a selection of the best content to record is now displayed in the Recording section, available from the My Programs section. Offline downloads have also received “big” improvements and there are several bug fixes and improvements on the agenda for this update.

In line with this development, the platform also intends to improve the display of AVOD (Ad-supported Video On Demand) Mango. This service is available in 5 hubs, offers more than 3000 hours of programming and, according to Molotov, has recorded at least 3 million views per month, which is 19% of monthly active users. Integration of new content, creation of other AVOD channels and merging of partner channels are also on the agenda for the first half.
