The Monster Hunter Series was introduced today with the global release of Monster Hunter Rise A new adventure for the Nintendo Switch. This latest entry accompanies the players to the village of Kamura, which is preparing for an impending riot. Hunters can face these challenges alone or with up to three people in local or online multiplayer mode. Thanks to ingenuity Nintendo Switch Players can now go fishing anytime, anywhere, and with whomever they want!

Accompany animals

In Monster Hunter Rise, dog-like Palamutes make their debut as a new companion and rope beetle mechanics ensure more freedom in action-packed fights. The Palamutes join the chain of favorites, the Palicos cats, and the back-up players: indoors while they hunt. In addition to their great fighting skills, the Palamutes also serve their hunters as mountains. In this way, fleeing monsters can be caught quickly and hunting grounds can be crossed quickly. On the other hand, cable beetles allow players to move in all directions while hunting – meaning even dizzying heights. It can also be combined with any of the 14 types of weapons to create a silk tie attack. Striking with these attacks means that a new wyvern mode can be implemented and players can temporarily control large monsters.

New tasks

In the new rampage missions in Monster Hunter Rise, hunters must expand the defenses of the village with the help of the inhabitants of the Kamura in order to repel the massive attack of the castle by the hordes of monsters. The special challenge is the summit monsters that can appear during this siege. Dynamic difficulty adjustment in Monster Hunter Rise ensures that the mission difficulty is automatically set as other players join or leave a mission. The new Hunter Connect feature lets you create your own tag that reflects goals and gameplay. This allows you to find Hunters with similar interests or add friends more quickly. After completing a mission in multiplayer mode, other players can be “liked”. This increases the chance of finding yourself again searching for your fellow players.

More monsters are on the way

As with previous Monster Hunter titles, Monster Hunter Rise will receive free updates after launch. The first of them will be released at the end of April and will include new monsters and fan-favorite Chameleos. Fickle Big Dragon infects Hunters: Inside with practical jokes before becoming invisible. The launch announcement also confirmed that the summit monster Rathalos will be added to the game as part of the first update. More information about other updates will be announced in the coming months.

Choose a monster

Monster Hunter Rise is now available as a physical or digital standard edition for the Nintendo Switch, as well as a premium digital and college edition. In addition to the game’s standard digital edition, the Deluxe Edition includes a coupon for a digital DLC that can be redeemed for additional in-game content such as the Kamurai Shield Kit, exclusive gestures, cosmetics, and more. Collector’s Limited Edition (physically available only) includes, in addition to all Deluxe Edition content, a sticker pack for the monster icons, an enameled Kamura pin, and an amiibo for the new Magnamalo. This is how budding Hunters will find the right version to start their indoor adventure!
