My opinion of the AUKEY USB-C 8-in-1 CB-C71 Hub

For work, I’m using the latest generation Macbook Pro and this one only has USB-C ports except that most connections are still USB today. In addition, it is not uncommon when taking pictures that I have to transfer files from SD and microSD cards, connect to the Internet at work with an Ethernet port or even connect to a monitor in an HDMi. Like many people, I’ve looked at prices for Apple products and connectors are often very expensive and expensive.

So the solution is to go back to the unofficial products that also do the job and have tested, a lot, a lot! The opportunity arose recently to test a complete 8-in-1 product that allows me to connect all my peripherals to the same gadget, the AUKEY USB-C CB-C71 Hub.

This little device fits in a computer carrying case and works very well, most importantly. I had no problem connecting multiple devices at the same time (USB key, SD cards, HDMi display) without one or the other causing interference with the other devices. And so we can find there:

  • 2 USB 3
  • 1 USB 2
  • 1 USB-C port
  • 1 Ethernet port
  • 1 hdmi port
  • SD card slot
  • microSD card slot

In terms of design, I couldn’t find anything “clean” with its rounded edges and black plastic extrusion that perfectly matches the design of my computer and its black plastic protective case. A small cover is included with the adapter to store and protect it from scratches.

In the end, should we crack?

Looking back, I think it’s time to take that step and I can only recommend all people who work all day at a computer to do the same. If at first the feeling is really special, then in the long run it is a pleasure to take charge and use of this material, because at the same time it is well designed, well thought out, practical and complete.

Positive points

  • design
  • number of conductors
  • small carriage house

Negatives

  • Data transfer speed is a little low with some devices
