Périgord Numérique, the consortium responsible for the deployment of optical fibers, is also responsible for improving the telephone network in Dordogne
Over the next three years, 150 new telephone towers will be installed across the Dordogne to remove white or disadvantaged areas. There are still many in this wooded and hilly section. Mixed Périgord Numérique Federation, Which deals with optical fibers, participates in the France Mobile program launched by the National Agency for Regional Cohesion with the four operators, Orange, SFR, Bouygues and Free. Above all, 4G must be installed, which is a good complement to the very high speed that arrives with fiber in homes.
The locations of the new towers have already been targeted in Clermont-de-Bourgard, Campagne, Saint-Saud-Lacoisier, Saint-Sernin-de-Lorme, Guinness, Duchapt, Beauregard, Bassac, Villefranche-de-Bérigord, Salagnac, Saint-Barthélemy-de-Bussière and Val-de-Louyre- et-Caudeau, Rampieux, and Saint-Estèphe. Two will be put into service at Dussac and Saint-Mesmin. Studies are underway in Basilac, Quinnac, Saint-Jéré Las Blox, Eygurande, Vendoire, Queyssac, Verteillac, Saint-Aquilin, Sorges … New sites will be studied in 2022.
The last commissioning was carried out in Monestier, Faux, Monmadalès, Siorac-de-Ribérac and La Jemaye.
