While No Man’s Sky’s new update, Sentinel, has been available since yesterday, one of the game’s creators, Sean Murray, spoke about Hello Games studio projects with our colleagues from IGN. After a very rough start in 2016, No Man’s Sky raised the bar thanks to the massive work of Hello Games to finally come out with a final and improved version in 2018. Since then, the game has had 19 updates and the studio doesn’t seem to be with its space adventure game.
More than a complete roadmap for No Man’s Sky
So, Sean Murray, one of the game directors, announced, along with our colleagues at IGN, that No Man’s Sky “was far” from ending. After 19 updates, the development teams are still full of new ideas that can enrich the unique experience that the license provides.
No Man’s Sky is a sandbox adventure game that features a near-infinite world and a procedural generation of planets. Each new update is a source of new simulation and ideas for Hello Games, allowing them to manage the game for the long haul. Sean Murray in particular says:
“Despite the number of updates that have been made since the game launched and the number of missions we’ve cleared up, the list of things we’re excited about doesn’t seem to be diminishing at all. The team is always coming up with new things they want to do with the game: new content, new features, and areas for improvement. Energy and motivation are higher than ever, and I’m obviously amazed. We don’t tend to talk publicly about what’s on this list, but we can summarize that we’re far from finished.”
In conjuring up this list, Murray is referring to No Man’s Sky’s roadmap which seems pretty busy if we believe his words. Talk specifically about the development calendar that keeps growing:
“I like to think No Man’s Sky is such a huge game that we have to paint it with big brush strokes, and then every update adds some finer details, but also some new brush strokes. That’s definitely the case here. If you take a look at our patch notes for an update Sentinel, you will see a large number of improvements, but also a lot of new features. »
The No Man’s Sky community and fans are sure to be happy to hear this from Sean Murray and how much Hello Games since 2016 truly deserves recognition. Besides the No Man’s Sky follow-up, the British studio is also working on a “huge and ambitious game like No Man’s Sky” not to mention the No Man’s Sky sequel.
Given Hello Games’ experiment with early and overly ambitious announcements (see No Man’s Sky in 2016), the studio will take the time it takes before more information about this new project is announced. Until then, we can only recommend you to go and venture into No Man’s Sky by discovering the Sentinel update released yesterday. The game is available on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC. The title is available on Xbox Game Pass and benefits from the next generation update for Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5. Finally, know that the game is coming to the Nintendo Switch this summer.
