Orange in Reunion has been chosen as the best mobile network for 5G uses.

On July 25, the electronic communications regulator Arcep published the results of its annual survey on the quality of mobile services from telecom operators in Réunion and Mayotte. For the first time in Réunion, Arcep measures 5G technology and highlights Orange’s leadership in the performance of its 5G mobile network on the island. At the end of several weeks of testing carried out in all overseas territories between January and May 2024, 528,000 measurements will have enabled ARCEP to determine the performance of telecom operators in the overseas territories. The analysis, which included new indicators this year, focused on the most used services such as: web browsing, video viewing, downloading, voice calls and receiving SMS.

Orange, the No. 1 mobile network in Reunion, is in the lead for the sixth time since 2018

Since 2018, Orange has been at the top of the rankings set by the regulator. This year, Orange has taken the top spot on the podium for the sixth time, coming in first or tied for first place in most of the criteria measured.

– Orange offers best 5G performance in Reunion –

This year, ARCEP is incorporating specific measures on 5G technology. On these measures, Orange in Reunion performs best with 100% of the indicators for this technology measured for the first time on the island, with speeds significantly higher than its competitors. ARCEP specifies in its press release: “The survey shows that 5G technology makes it possible to achieve better speeds, especially on the Orange network, which ranks first in this indicator.”

Orange in Reunion was announced on June 14, opening its 5G network to its 4G customers, at no additional cost, whether general public or professionals, until September 8, 2024.
