Pink October began on October 1st. The breast cancer awareness campaign continues for a month, like every year. This is the 31st edition. With more than 61,000 cases in 2023 (and 12,600 deaths), this cancer remains the most common in women. Research and treatments are advancing, especially with immunotherapy. However, the comfort of life for patients and the information available to their loved ones, who sometimes find themselves destitute, is no less discussed. That is why the RoseUp Association is launching “RoseApp” on Friday, October 4, a mobile application for collaborating with family or friends during cancer.

“I know from experience that sometimes it is difficult to ask for help, but it is also difficult for the caregiver to provide help,” points out Katherine, who has been suffering from breast cancer since last year, since the results today are encouraging. She offered to participate in the development of this app, after realizing the boundaries with those around her: “It can be a help in going shopping, or a help in accompanying people to consultations, knowing that there is someone in the waiting room and that when we are gone, we will not be alone. ” This could be as simple as saying 'I'm not well, I'm not feeling well, can someone call me?', explains Catherine.

So the goal of RoseApp is to facilitate communication. “The patient can share their schedule, wants and needs on the app,” explains Céline Dupré, president of the RoseUp Association. Once they're invited, “their loved ones will be able to put themselves in the right place, and hopefully we'll really allow them to form a team,” she stresses.
The “RoseApp” application has been available since Friday, October 4, on the Apple Store and Google Play. It's free.
