Razer is getting serious about making desktop gadgets

Razer is famous for the production of gaming gadgets, which are distinguished from classic PCs by their flashy design. However, in the past few months of the pandemic, the company has found a new path of development. The company is interested in producing materials with the most discreet design, which should prove their value in professional applications. In the 2020 pandemic, Razer Pro hardware designed to improve productivity at work went on sale, and in November 2021, three new gadgets joined the series.

The company wants us to take a look at the Pro Type Ultra keyboard, which features Razer Yellow’s silent line switches. Unlike last year’s Pro Type, the device also has a wrist pad, which is supposed to rest our hands during the many hours of work in front of the computer. The keyboard can also be connected to a computer via USB, which is not provided by the Pro Type model. Whether you want to use the keyboard in wired or wireless mode is up to you. When it comes to wireless connectivity, the Razer Pro Type Ultra can be paired to a computer using a classic Bluetooth module or a 2.4GHz USB dongle, which helps reduce signal delays.

The choice of wireless connection method will have a direct impact on battery life – in Bluetooth mode, the Razer Pro Type Ultra will last up to 214 hours without recharging, and in 2.4GHz mode – up to 207 hours. However, these ratings are for running with the backlight off, LED activation reducing maximum battery life to several hours.

On the other hand, the Razer Pro Click Mini Mouse was created for users who want a compact ferret to work with a laptop. The new device is noticeably smaller than its prototype without the “Mini” in its name, but it is assumed that it will provide similar working comfort. The mouse is equipped with silent keys and a roller that allows the use of two working modes – jump and smooth. Unlike the full-size 2020 model, you won’t find a built-in rechargeable battery here, as the Razer Pro Click Mini is powered by two AA batteries. However, this solution has its advantages – in Bluetooth mode, the mouse will work for up to 15 months without changing batteries, and the battery life of the Razer Pro Click is estimated at a maximum of two and a half months.

The latest new gadget for professionals is the Pro Glide XXL Mouse Pad, which extends up to 37 inches in length. You can easily put your mouse and keyboard there.

All devices listed here will be purchased through the manufacturer’s website. The Razer Pro Type Ultra keyboard costs €170, the Razer Pro Click Mini mouse is €90 and the Razer Pro Glide XXL mouse pad is €35.
