Why not take advantage of the April holidays to discover or rediscover Aure Valley in Bayeux (Calvados) ? The Calvados Departmentresponsible for managing and maintaining this sensitive natural space (ENS), is trying an experiment using a mobile application.

” With GuidiGowhich can be downloaded to a smartphone, visitors can gain access to a personal visit to the heart of this rich local flora and fauna,” the section explains.

A walk in several stages

Concretely, if you have planned to take a family picnic in the Aure Valley, you can download this app for free. You will find 2 km walk (about an hour and a half). During this walk, several stages were proposed to get a better understanding of this natural space: the insect hotel, the river, the ponds, the banks, the bodies of water, the tadpole trees, the reed bed, the grassland, the dragonfly, the bridge of lanterns, its history, the artistic touch, the alley of the trees.

Designed for families, these itineraries allow, through games, videos, and sounds, to raise awareness of issues of environmental protection and respect for nature and biodiversity, while making these developed sites more accessible. To welcome the public and highlight the legacy of local nature.

The department purchases, enhances and preserves these natural environments for development prior to offering them to the public. To date, the department owns 661 hectares and manages 26 sites with unique ecological and landscape richness. This showed a cumulative attendance of about 469,000 visitors in 2020. The department also operates 13 sites in the Conservatoire du littoral, representing an additional 1,307 hectares.
