After 12 years of development and controversy, Star Citizen, a $730 million game, had the right to hold its conference to determine its future. What will happen to the final version? We explain everything to you in this quick joint project.

Yes, you can scream your joy. Well, it's not very strong either because no specific date has been announced for Star Citizen by the game's developers. This weekend was CitizenCon, which lasted for over 10 hours. The people responsible for the project took turns talking about the future directions of the game against the background of the gameplay.

Change of plans

When development began, the game had a budget of $2 million (thanks to crowdfunding). However, today it is about 730 million. A note that only increases the expectations of players and the community. In 2012, the game focused on quantity with the ability to visit over 100 planetary systems where each player could play the character of their choice. The problem is that the developers reversed their decision and finally introduced 5 solar systems with their planets and moons. So we find Stanton (available in alpha), Pyro, expected at the end of the year, Nyx, Castra and Terra. So the developers want to focus on quality and honor their promise of “no loading” so they can then add new planets.

During this CitizenCon, we were also able to find out how to build spaceships. Yes, you can build your own transportation. You have the possibility to customize each of your units for storage of supplies, have a garage, a designated place for refining, etc…. However, it must be done as a team because the resources needed to achieve it are too great for one person to gather. So developers are counting on the mutual aid and community aspect of future Star Citizen. We were also able to observe the housing system for building your own base on different planets. Players will be able to customize their interiors and choose the exact location where they want to build.

Crafting system

The announcement that made fans blush is the entire crafting system that the game will offer. You can build more than 1,000 items, including weapons. For each item, there are materials and resources needed to craft it. But be careful, the rarer and better preserved the resource, the better the quality of the crafted item. In short, this conference will have provided a lot of information about the final version 1.0 of the game, the release date of which has not yet been announced. If you want to explore future Star Citizen PvP and PvE, you can find them on our JV Fast at the beginning of the article!
