It was one of the surprises of Gamescom, as Bethesda made Starfield's first land vehicle, the REV-8, available. But the update also includes other new features, including the full patch notes in French.
Starfield Update: Full Patch Notes in French
In addition to the ability to explore planets in a whole new way using the REV-8, the Starfield developers reveal new features and changes brought with the new game update.
REV-8, a new companion for faster exploration in Starfield
Once the unit is in the ship of your choice, the REV-8 will automatically deploy outside your ship once you land somewhere. You can also customize the REV-8 to your liking by decorating it with unique colors.
The REV-8 is equipped with a powerful turret as well as a shield to provide extra protection while driving. Your turbo can help you get out of a bad situation quickly, but it doesn't just help you move forward… you can also use it to give your car a spring and propel you into the air to reach much more important areas. Hard to reach.
Other new features in the new Starfield update
New options
- Target refresh rate: You can now choose between a refresh rate of 30, 40, 60, or unlimited on displays with variable refresh rate (VRR). If you don’t have a 120Hz VRR display, you can still choose 30 or 60 IPS. Image tearing can sometimes occur when choosing a 60 FPS refresh rate on a display without VRR.
- Priority: You can now prioritize graphics or performance while trying to maintain your target refresh rate. If you choose a target refresh rate of 60 FPS or higher, we recommend prioritizing performance. Prioritizing graphics maintains maximum resolution and the highest detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Prioritizing performance reduces the internal resolution and detail in special effects, lighting, and crowds. Both modes can also dynamically adjust the internal resolution as scenes or events become more complex. When you change modes, the lighting will briefly change as the system adjusts to the new mode.
- Vertical Sync: You can now choose whether or not to enable vertical sync. Disabling this option will decouple your game frame rate from your monitor’s refresh rate, which can lead to frame tearing. Conversely, enabling it will sync your game frame rate to your monitor’s refresh rate, preventing frame tearing but limiting the number of frames.
