The future of construction: BIM objects in waya by BIMsystems

The future of construction is called Building Information Modeling (BIM). It is about planning a digital building using modern CAD software. In the future, the building could be designed as a digital computer model, or the so-called digital twin, before it is actually built. 3D models can be viewed by planners, builders and dealers from different perspectives. They allow virtual tracking snapshots through the interior and provide structural details relevant to planning and implementation.

A prerequisite for this is physical databases that contain comprehensive information on all building products. This includes not only engineering and visual quality information, but also physical properties such as statics, sound and heat insulation. There is also data on weight, dimensions and material costs. Processing instructions and sustainability information such as an environmental product declaration can also be incorporated.

Mein Ziegelhaus now offers virtual BIM objects for the entire product range. For this purpose, the Association of Leading Brick Manufacturers cooperates with Stuttgarter BIMsystems Ltd Closed. Planners, architects and construction companies can use the free tool waya by BIMsystems online or via a plugin to place BIM content with all important information directly into a CAD system such as Revit or ArchiCAD.

Save time in the application

In waya, bricks from Mein Ziegelhaus are shown as BIM composite content. This means that building materials are mapped as a surface in the BIM data model and are controlled via the drawing tool for CAD systems. With the plugin from BIMsystems, BIM content is customized according to parameters, logic and rules and inserted into the BIM data model. Users effectively save time when searching for, selecting and placing digital brick products. waya is free for planners with all basic functions.

Whether it is bricks or flat bricks, whether bricks for exterior walls or interior wall systems or exterior walls with composite thermal insulation systems – users can actually arrange flat BIM content in such a way that they can take that next step right with all the preferred using important information without additional manual steps CAD system can use them. The planning phase is not interrupted and takes place in a familiar environment – thanks to the two-way plug-in directly into the CAD system.
